About the Speaker:-
Dr. Mohammad Rumman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosciences at Integral University, Lucknow, India, with extensive academic and research expertise in Molecular Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Metabolic Disorders. He earned his Ph.D. in Life Sciences from the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS),
Bangalore, and also holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (H.N.B.) Garhwal University and a B.Sc. in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry from the University of Lucknow.
His Ph.D. research focused on Mesenchymal Stem Cells and the role of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase in bone tissue regeneration. He discovered that modulating the expression of receptor tyrosine phosphatase type U enhances mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis, advancing regenerative medicine approaches for treating osteoporosis and bone fractures.
Dr. Mohammad Rumman has garnered valuable international research experience as a postdoctoral scientist at
Odense University Hospital, Denmark, and has worked as a Research Associate at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. He has also been a recipient of the prestigious CSIR-NET fellowship for his Ph.D. research and is a life member of the Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI).
With multiple publications in reputed international journals, Dr. Rumman’s work significantly contributes to understanding molecular mechanisms in stem cells, neuroprotection, and metabolic regulation. His research interests span experimental and computational approaches, including advanced cell culture, animal modeling, flow
cytometry, imaging, transcriptome analysis, and bioinformatics.
